Experience Christoph Koncz live on January 7th
Christoph Koncz is a Hungarian classical baritone renowned for his interpretations of Lieder, or German art song, as well as operatic roles, particularly those composed by Schubert and Schumann. His performances are frequently praised for their nuanced phrasing, vocal control, and emotional depth, often described as possessing a remarkable sensitivity to text and musicality. He frequently collaborates with prominent pianists in recital settings.
The concert will take place at Eldborg, the main hall within Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik, Iceland. Opened in 2011, Harpa was a key project in Iceland’s revitalization following the 2008 financial crisis and quickly became a landmark building. Eldborg is notable for its acoustics, designed by Artec Consultants Inc., and its striking glass facade inspired by basalt columns – a common geological feature in Iceland.
The hall’s capacity is approximately 1,800 seated patrons and it's equipped to host a wide range of performances including orchestral concerts, opera, ballet and conferences. The interior design incorporates elements referencing Icelandic nature and light conditions. Eldborg regularly hosts internationally acclaimed artists and ensembles and is considered one of Iceland’s premier performance venues.
