Bertrand Chamayou is a French pianist renowned for his poetic and insightful interpretations of the Romantic and 20th/21st-century repertoire. Harpa Concert Hall, located in Reykjavik, Iceland, opened in 2011 and serves as the city’s primary concert and conference venue. Norðurljós (“Northern Lights”) is Harpa’s smaller, more intimate hall. Its design, like the rest of Harpa, draws heavily from Icelandic nature – specifically basalt columns and the play of light on water. The hall's acoustics are specifically tailored for chamber music and solo instrumental performances, offering a warm and enveloping sound experience.

Harpa was conceived as part of Iceland’s efforts to revitalize its capital following the 2008 financial crisis; its construction was initially delayed due to economic challenges.
