Experience The Bad Plus live on September 23rd
The Bad Plus will perform at Stable Hall in San Antonio, Texas on September 23, 2026. The Bad Plus is a jazz trio known for its unconventional approach to the genre, blending elements of post-bop improvisation with influences from rock, pop, and avant-garde music. Formed in 1990, the group initially gained recognition for their deconstructed interpretations of popular songs by artists like Nirvana and Blondie alongside original compositions. Their instrumentation consists of piano, bass, and drums, and they are characterized by dynamic interplay and a willingness to push boundaries within the jazz tradition.
Stable Hall is a historic venue located in the Southtown Arts District of San Antonio. Originally constructed in 1871 as a stable for Pearl Brewery’s horses, the building underwent renovations in the early 2000s to transform it into an event space. It's known for its rustic aesthetic—retaining much of its original brickwork and architectural features—and intimate atmosphere, hosting a variety of performances including live music, theatrical productions and art exhibitions. The venue’s capacity is approximately 350-400 standing or 250 seated guests.
