Experience Arturo Sandoval live on September 26th
Arturo Sandoval is a Cuban-American musician renowned for his virtuosity on the trumpet and his contributions to Latin jazz. His musical style blends traditional Cuban rhythms with elements of bebop, hard bop, and classical music, showcasing both dazzling technical skill and emotive phrasing. Sandoval’s career includes work with Dizzy Gillespie, collaborations with numerous orchestral ensembles, and a substantial body of solo recordings earning him multiple Grammy Awards.
Hemisfair, the location for the performance, is a 15-acre urban park in the heart of San Antonio, Texas. Originally constructed as the site of the 1968 World’s Fair – officially “HemisFair ‘68” – it commemorated the 250th anniversary of San Antonio’s founding. The fair introduced the Tower of the Americas, which remains a prominent landmark and focal point within the park. Following the fair's conclusion, Hemisfair underwent redevelopment, transitioning from primarily exhibition space to a public park designed for recreation and community events. Today it features gardens, plazas, play areas and hosts various cultural festivals and performances throughout the year.
