Experience Matangi Quartet live on October 11th

The Matangi Quartet will perform at the Driekoningenkerk in Noordgouwe, Netherlands on October 11, 2026. The Matangi Quartet is a string quartet known for its dynamic and adventurous approach to contemporary classical music, often incorporating elements of improvisation and exploring cross-cultural influences. They frequently commission new works and champion lesser-known composers alongside established figures, presenting programs that blend traditional repertoire with innovative sounds. Their performances are characterized by a commitment to both technical precision and emotional depth.

The Driekoningenkerk (Three Kings Church) in Noordgouwe is a historical church building dating back to the late Gothic period, originally constructed around 1450. It underwent significant restoration in the late 19th century led by architect P.J.H. Cuypers, also renowned for his work on the Rijksmuseum and Amsterdam Central Station. The restoration included neo-Gothic additions and alterations to the interior. The church is noted for its stained-glass windows and acoustic properties which make it a favoured venue for musical performances. It currently functions as a cultural centre alongside its religious purpose, hosting a variety of events including concerts and exhibitions within the municipality of Molenwaard.
