Experience Nederlands Kamer Orkest live on November 25th
Nederlands Kamer Orkest (NKO) is renowned for its flexible and innovative approach to orchestral performance, frequently exploring repertoire beyond the standard classical canon. The ensemble is particularly known for its chamber orchestra sound – characterized by a smaller instrumental force allowing for greater clarity and nuanced expression – and its commitment to collaborations with diverse artists across genres. Historically, the NKO has championed 20th and 21st-century music alongside established works, often performing without a traditional conductor, fostering a democratic musical dialogue amongst its players.
The concert on November 25, 2026, will take place at Amare, a modern cultural complex in The Hague. Opened in 2021, Amare houses the Residentie Orkest (The Hague Philharmonic), Nederlands Dans Theater, and the Royal Conservatoire. The building itself occupies a prominent location opposite the Binnenhof, the seat of the Dutch Parliament, and integrates historical elements of the former Dr Anton Philipszaal concert hall within its contemporary design. Amare aims to be a vibrant hub for national and international arts and culture, offering spaces for music, dance, opera and education.
