Classical Concerts in The Hague

Experience Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir live on February 28th

The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir will perform at Amare, in The Hague, Netherlands on February 28, 2027. This choir is internationally renowned for its purity of sound, precision, and expressive interpretations of choral works spanning from Gregorian chant to contemporary compositions. Their repertoire heavily features Renaissance polyphony and works by Estonian composers like Arvo Pärt and Veljo Tormis, often characterized by a distinctive vocal timbre and a focus on spiritual and contemplative themes. The choir consistently receives acclaim for its technical skill and emotional depth.

Amare opened in 2021 and functions as the new home for the Residentie Orkest (The Hague Philharmonic Orchestra) and the Nederlands Dans Theater. The building itself replaced the former Lucent Gardens complex and is situated alongside the Spuikwartier, a cultural district undergoing significant redevelopment. Designed by Mecanoo architects, Amare incorporates multiple performance spaces including a concert hall with adjustable acoustics, a mid-sized hall, and smaller rehearsal rooms. Its architecture aims to be publicly accessible with open foyers and views of the city.
