Matangi Quartet will perform at Amare, The Hague on February 3rd, 2027. The quartet is recognized for its interpretations of both classical and contemporary string quartet repertoire, frequently commissioning new works and exploring cross-cultural musical dialogues, particularly incorporating influences from Indian classical music alongside Western traditions. Their performances are noted for a dynamic range and a commitment to innovative programming.

Amare opened in 2021 and functions as a cultural hub housing the Residentie Orkest (The Hague Philharmonic), the Nederlands Dans Theater, and the Royal Conservatoire. The building itself occupies a prominent location on the Spui square, replacing the former Lucent Danstheater and adjacent buildings. Designed by Mecanoo architects, Amare aims to be an accessible and inclusive space for a diverse audience, offering performance spaces for music, dance, opera, and theatre. Its architectural design incorporates elements intended to visually connect the interior with the city surrounding it. The complex features multiple halls including the Great Hall (Grote Zaal), the Small Hall (Kleine Zaal), and various rehearsal spaces and educational facilities supporting artistic development within The Hague.
