Marios Papadopoulos will perform at the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building in Oxford on July 31, 2026. Papadopoulos is a pianist known for his interpretations of Romantic and early 20th-century composers, particularly those within the German tradition – Schumann, Brahms, and Rachmaninoff are frequently featured in his repertoire. His playing is often described as possessing a lyrical quality and a focus on nuanced phrasing, aiming to reveal the emotional depth within the compositions. He has a long-standing commitment to performing complete cycles of composers’ works.
The Jacqueline du Pré Music Building, opened in 2009, serves as the home for the University of Oxford’s music faculty. Named in honour of cellist Jacqueline du Pré, an alumna of St Hilda's College, Oxford, the building was designed by Rick Mather Architects. Its construction incorporated elements of the former Ruskin College buildings, integrating historic fabric with contemporary design. The building features a 400-seat concert hall renowned for its acoustics, practice rooms, teaching spaces and a dedicated library for music resources. It aims to provide a central hub for musical activity within the university and hosts performances by students, faculty and visiting artists throughout the year.
