Established in 1959 by Freddy Wittrup, it initially served as a meeting place for musicians after performances at other venues. It’s known for its unpretentious setting and dedication to showcasing improvisational music. The bar maintains a traditional jazz club aesthetic with low lighting and a focus on the music itself. It continues to be operated by the Wittrup family today.
