Joe Lovano, a highly regarded American jazz saxophonist, will perform at Dr Koncerthuset, Copenhagen South, Denmark on February 6th, 2027. Lovano’s musical style is rooted in the post-bop tradition, drawing influence from masters like Cannonball Adderley and Sonny Stitt. He is known for his lyrical improvisations, robust tone, and exploration of diverse harmonic textures. Throughout his career, he has incorporated elements of classical music, folk melodies and world music into his compositions, leading to a uniquely personal and expansive sound. He frequently leads both quartet and larger ensemble projects.

Dr Koncerthuset (The Concert Hall) opened in January 2009 as part of the Copenhagen Harbourfront development. Designed by the architectural firm Henning Larsen, it is the home venue for the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and the Danish Radio Choir. The building comprises four halls: the main Concert Hall with seating for approximately 1,800 people, Studio 2 with capacity for 500, Studio 3 designed for smaller performances and rehearsals and a smaller experimental space.
