Xiu Xiu will perform at the Viff Centre in Vancouver, British Columbia on October 1st, 2026. The musical project, primarily led by Jamie Stewart, is known for its experimental and often challenging sound. Characterized by elements of noise, electronic music, and deconstructed pop, Xiu Xiu’s work frequently incorporates themes of trauma, sexuality, and the darker aspects of human experience. Performances are often intensely emotional and physically demanding. The group has released numerous albums since its formation in 2002, consistently pushing boundaries within the avant-garde music scene.

The Viff Centre (Vancouver International Film Centre) opened in 2023 and serves as the permanent home of the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF). Located at 1181 Cambie Street, it’s a multi-venue complex designed to support cinematic arts year-round. Beyond hosting film screenings during the annual festival, the centre includes three cinemas – a 433-seat main hall and two smaller screens – alongside public spaces intended for community engagement and industry events. It also functions as a hub for film education initiatives and independent film exhibition outside of the festival period.
