The Rudolfinum, located on Jan Palach Square in Prague, holds significant cultural importance for the Czech Republic. Originally built as a representative building for Czech lands within Austria-Hungary, it opened in 1884. Designed by architects Josef Schulz and Anton Hrubý, its neo-Renaissance architecture houses several halls including the Dvořák Hall, renowned for its exceptional acoustics. Throughout its history, the Rudolfinum has been a venue for significant political events – notably the declaration of Czechoslovakia’s independence in 1918 – as well as serving as a primary concert hall for the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and hosting numerous international musical events.
