The Jacqueline du Pré Music Building forms part of the University of Oxford’s Faculty of Music. Opened in 2009, the building is named in honour of Jacqueline du Pré, the celebrated cellist who studied at St Anne's College, Oxford. Designed by architects Rick Mather Architects, the building incorporates a 400-seat concert hall with a distinctive curved wooden roof structure intended to optimize acoustics. The hall also features adjustable acoustic banners to tailor the sound for different ensembles and performances. Beyond the main hall, the building houses practice rooms, teaching spaces, a music library and administrative offices serving the University’s music department.
