Royal Northern Sinfonia, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, is renowned as one of the United Kingdom’s leading chamber orchestras. The ensemble typically performs a broad repertoire spanning classical periods through to contemporary works, with a particular focus on 20th and 21st-century compositions and commissioning new pieces. They are known for their dynamic performances and collaborative approach, often working with soloists and exploring innovative concert formats.

The concert on November 28th, 2026 will take place at St. Gabriel’s Church, Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne. Constructed between 1888 and 1893, St. Gabriel's is a notable example of High Victorian Gothic architecture designed by architect A.H. Lancaster. The church features significant Pre-Raphaelite inspired stained glass windows created by Charles Eamer Kempe, considered amongst his finest work and representing a key element of the building’s artistic heritage.

St. Gabriel's has become increasingly recognised as a venue for musical performances due to its excellent acoustics and intimate setting.
