Protomartyr, a Detroit-based post-punk band formed in 2010, will be performing at Bi Nuu in Berlin on February 26, 2027. Their music is generally characterized by its stark, minimalist arrangements, often featuring driving basslines, angular guitar work, and Joe Casey’s distinctive, spoken-word vocal delivery. Lyrically, Protomartyr explores themes of urban decay, alienation, and societal anxieties with a darkly sardonic tone. The band has released several critically acclaimed albums including *The Agent Intellect*, *Relatives*, and *Formaldehyde*.

Bi Nuu is a prominent independent music venue located in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. Originally opening in 1979 as a squat and alternative cultural center known as SO36, it underwent periods of closure and redevelopment before reopening in its current form in 2016. The venue maintains a focus on showcasing diverse and experimental musical acts spanning post-punk, electronic, noise rock and related genres. It’s known for its intimate atmosphere and raw aesthetic, retaining some of the original SO36's historical character while operating as a professionally run concert space.
