Horsegirl, a Chicago-based indie rock band formed in 2019, will be performing at Neue Zukunft in Berlin on August 31st, 2026. Their music is generally characterized by layered guitar work, driving rhythms, and often incorporates elements of shoegaze, post-punk revival, and 90s alternative rock. The band consists of Penelope Lowder, Ori Lukaciuk, and Nora Cheng. They gained initial attention with their self-released singles and EPs before signing with Matador Records. Their debut album, *Versions of Reality*, was released in 2022 to critical acclaim.

Neue Zukunft is a well-known independent music venue located in the Neukölln district of Berlin. Originally established as a motorcycle workshop in the 1970s, it transitioned into a cultural space in the early 2000s. It’s known for its intimate setting and raw aesthetic; maintaining much of its industrial character. The venue frequently hosts both established and emerging artists across various genres including punk, experimental electronic music, and indie rock – fostering a reputation for supporting underground and alternative scenes within Berlin’s music landscape.
