Experience National Symphony Orchestra live on August 14th
The National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) will perform at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts on August 14, 2026. The NSO, based in Washington, D.C., is renowned for its broad repertoire encompassing classical orchestral works from the Baroque period through contemporary compositions. While historically rooted in traditional orchestral performance, the NSO frequently incorporates American composers and collaborates with artists across diverse musical genres. It serves as the artistic cornerstone of the Kennedy Center’s programming.
Wolf Trap, located in Vienna, Virginia, is a unique venue established in 1971 as America’s only National Park dedicated to the performing arts. Originally a working farm, the site was transformed through a public-private partnership involving Katharine Merril and Jean Weidner Ernst, who donated their 68 acres to the National Park Service. Its Filene Center is an outdoor amphitheater known for its lawn seating and natural setting, hosting a wide range of performances including classical music, opera, pop concerts and dance. The park also includes Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods and The Barns at Wolf Trap – a smaller indoor venue offering more intimate performances.
