Experience The Washington Chorus live on February 28th
The Washington Chorus will perform at DAR Constitution Hall on February 28, 2027. The Washington Chorus is a highly regarded choral ensemble known for its performances spanning a broad repertoire, from early music and Renaissance polyphony to contemporary compositions and large-scale orchestral works. The chorus frequently collaborates with national and international orchestras and is recognized for its commitment to both traditional choral literature and commissioning new pieces.
DAR Constitution Hall, the venue for this concert, holds significant historical and cultural importance. Opened in 1929, it was built by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) as a memorial to the women and men who fought in the American Revolution. Initially conceived as a meeting place and performance space for the DAR, it quickly became a prominent venue for a wide range of artistic performances, including concerts, lectures, and theatrical productions. Throughout its history, Constitution Hall has hosted numerous celebrated artists and served as an important platform for diverse voices; it was notably the site of Marian Anderson’s historic 1939 concert after she was denied the use of Constitution Hall due to racial segregation policies at the time—an event that brought national attention to civil rights issues. The hall remains owned and operated by the DAR.
