Daniil Trifonov is scheduled to perform at The Music Center at Strathmore in North Bethesda, Maryland on December 10, 2026. He is widely regarded as one of the leading pianists of his generation, known for his intensely emotional and technically brilliant performances. Trifonov’s repertoire spans a vast range, from Romantic composers like Rachmaninoff and Chopin to more contemporary works by composers such as Prokofiev and Ligeti. His playing is often characterized by a powerful sound, nuanced phrasing, and a distinctive poetic sensibility. He received the Gramophone Classical Music Awards’ Pianist of the Year in 2019 and has been praised for his interpretive depth.

The Music Center at Strathmore opened in February 2003 and serves as a multi-disciplinary arts center and home to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra for select performances. Designed by William Rawn Associates, the complex features two concert halls: the 1,976-seat Concert Hall with its exceptional acoustics, and the smaller 300-seat Helen Reichert Borghesani Performance Hall. Strathmore hosts a diverse range of performances including classical music, jazz, world music, and contemporary dance.
