Ingrid Fliter is an Argentinian pianist internationally recognised for her poetic and insightful interpretations of Romantic composers, particularly Chopin. Her playing is often described as possessing a remarkable clarity of touch and a nuanced understanding of phrasing, bringing a lyrical quality to her performances. She frequently performs Chopin’s complete works and is lauded for her sensitive approach to his nocturnes and mazurkas.

The concert will take place at the Holywell Music Room in Oxford. Established in 1748, it is the oldest purpose-built music room in Europe still in use. Originally constructed for small chamber music concerts intended for the university community, it has hosted performances by numerous celebrated musicians throughout its history, including Haydn and Mendelssohn.

The room's intimate size – accommodating approximately 500 audience members – contributes to its renowned acoustics and creates a particularly close connection between performer and listener. It remains a significant venue within the University of Oxford’s music scene, continuing to host a diverse range of classical music performances. The building itself is Grade I listed, reflecting its historical and architectural importance.
