silent green Kulturquartier is a unique cultural venue situated within a former crematorium complex in Berlin-Treptow. Originally built between 1909 and 1911, the site operated as a crematorium until 2001. Following extensive renovation and preservation efforts, it was repurposed as a multi-disciplinary arts space opening in 2018. The venue retains significant architectural features of its past while functioning as a space for concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, and performances focused on experimental and contemporary art forms. Its acoustic properties are notably suited to nuanced sound experiences due to the building’s original design and subsequent acoustic adjustments during conversion.
