The Hexagon opened in 1983 and is a multi-purpose arts centre located in the centre of Reading. Originally conceived as a replacement for the town’s existing concert hall, it was designed by architects Vincent Harris & Associates and features a large auditorium capable of seating over 440 people. Throughout its history, The Hexagon has hosted a diverse range of performances including theatre productions, dance shows, classical concerts, comedy acts and large-scale conferences. It underwent a significant refurbishment completed in late 2021 which included improvements to accessibility, seating and technical facilities. The venue is owned and operated by Reading Borough Council.
