Experience Arie Vardi live on August 2nd
Arie Vardi will perform at the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building in Oxford on August 2nd, 2026. Vardi is an Israeli pianist internationally recognised for his interpretations of Romantic and 20th-century repertoire, particularly noted for his deeply expressive and technically assured performances of composers like Rachmaninoff, Chopin, and Scriabin. His playing style often emphasizes a lyrical quality combined with virtuosic display. He is also a dedicated pedagogue, holding a long-standing professorship at the Tel Aviv University Buchmann-Mehta School of Music.
The Jacqueline du Pré Music Building serves as the home of the University of Oxford’s music department. Opened in 2009, it was named in honour of Jacqueline du Pré, the celebrated cellist who studied at the university between 1961 and 1964. The building itself incorporates elements of the former Ruskin College chapel, retaining its original Gothic Revival architecture while integrating modern performance and teaching spaces. It features a main concert hall with excellent acoustics designed specifically for chamber music and recitals, alongside practice rooms, teaching studios, and a music library.
