The Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) opened in 1994 following extensive renovations to the historic Community Theatre, originally built in 1937. The theatre was designed in the Art Deco style by architect William H. Gompert. Prior to its transformation into MPAC, the venue operated as a movie palace and hosted vaudeville performances.

MPAC functions as a non-profit organization and serves as a significant cultural hub for the region, presenting over 200 events annually including concerts, comedy shows, dance performances, and theatrical productions. It has hosted numerous prominent artists across various disciplines and is recognized for its acoustics and intimate setting accommodating approximately 1,300 patrons.
