The Švanda Theater: Main Hall in Prague holds a significant place in Czech cultural history. Originally built as a “community house” (obecní dům) for the Vinohrady district and opened in 1901, it was renamed Švanda Theater in 1949 after the playwright Ladislav Švanda. Throughout its history, it has served as a venue for a wide range of performances including opera, ballet, drama, concerts and film screenings.
