Trio Gaspard will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on November 13, 2026. The ensemble is recognized for its interpretations of the Romantic and early 20th-century chamber music repertoire, particularly focusing on works originally written for piano trio – violin, cello, and piano. Their performances are noted for a blend of technical precision and emotional depth, often highlighting the lyrical qualities within complex compositions. They frequently champion lesser-known works alongside established masterpieces.

The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 after a decade of construction and significant cost overruns. Built atop an existing warehouse structure (the Kaispeicher A), it has quickly become a landmark building and a major cultural venue in Hamburg. Its design, by Herzog & de Meuron, features a glass facade constructed above a brick base, creating a distinctive architectural contrast.

The concert hall within, known for its “White Skin” acoustic cladding designed by Yasuhisa Toyota, offers exceptional acoustics intended to provide an intimate experience despite its considerable size.
