Evgeny Kissin will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on November 22, 2026. Kissin is internationally renowned for his deeply expressive and technically brilliant piano playing. His style is rooted in the Romantic tradition, particularly influenced by pianists like Rachmaninoff and Horowitz, but also demonstrates a clear and insightful approach to composers across various periods – from Bach and Mozart to contemporary works. He is known for his intensely focused interpretations and powerful stage presence.

The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 after a decade of construction and significant cost overruns. Built atop a historic warehouse in the HafenCity district, it has quickly become a landmark for Hamburg and a celebrated concert hall globally. Its design, by Herzog & de Meuron, features an undulating glass facade built above the brick base of the former Kaispeicher A warehouse.

The hall’s acoustics were designed by Yasuhisa Toyota, aiming for a “white canvas” sound that allows for natural reverberation while maintaining clarity.
