Kian Soltani, a celebrated Iranian-German cellist, will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on April 11, 2027. Soltani is recognized for his deeply expressive and technically assured interpretations of both classical and contemporary repertoire. His playing is often described as possessing a rich tone and nuanced phrasing, drawing comparisons to artists like Rostropovich and Casals. He frequently performs concertos with leading orchestras worldwide and is also a dedicated chamber musician.

The Elbphilharmonie, inaugurated in January 2017, is a landmark concert hall in the HafenCity district of Hamburg. Built atop an historic warehouse known as the Kaispeicher A, its distinctive glass structure and undulating roof have made it an architectural icon. The building’s design, by Herzog & de Meuron, incorporates a plaza accessible to the public offering panoramic views of the city and harbor.

The concert hall itself is renowned for its exceptional acoustics, achieved through the “White Skin” interior designed by Yasuhisa Toyota. This innovative design features custom-made gypsum fiber panels that diffuse sound evenly throughout the hall.
