The Tölzer Boys Choir will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on July 12, 2026. The choir is internationally recognized for its performances of Renaissance and Baroque choral music, alongside a repertoire extending to include folk songs, contemporary compositions, and musical theatre pieces. Founded in 1863 in Bad Tölz, Bavaria, the choir traditionally operates as a boarding school choir, emphasizing both musical education and academic studies for its young singers. Their sound is characterized by purity of tone and disciplined ensemble work, often performing *a cappella* or with historically informed instrumental accompaniment.

The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 after a decade of construction and significant cost overruns. Built atop an existing warehouse structure (the Kaispeicher A), it has become a landmark architectural achievement and a major cultural venue in Hamburg. Designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, the concert hall is renowned for its exceptional acoustics – achieved through the “White Skin” interior designed by Yasuhisa Toyota – and its striking glass facade.
