Experience Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra live on July 5th

The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at Bunkamura in Shibuya, Tokyo on July 5, 2026. Established in 1911, the Tokyo Philharmonic is Japan’s oldest and among its most esteemed orchestras. Its musical style is characterized by a broad repertoire spanning classical, romantic, and contemporary works, with a noted commitment to performing compositions by Japanese composers alongside established international masters. The orchestra frequently collaborates with both domestic and international conductors and soloists.

Bunkamura, opened in 1985, is a large multi-purpose complex designed by architect Tadao Ando. It functions as a significant cultural hub within Shibuya Ward. The complex incorporates a concert hall – the Bunkamura Orchard Hall where the Tokyo Philharmonic will perform – a theatre, museums, and cinema facilities. Orchard Hall is renowned for its acoustics and distinctive concrete architectural design; it's specifically designed to accommodate a wide range of performing arts. Bunkamura was conceived as a space to foster artistic exchange and provide access to diverse cultural experiences for the public. The complex underwent extensive renovations completed in 2023 following damage from an earthquake in 2022.
