The Janoska Ensemble is a Slovakian ensemble known for its highly virtuosic and genre-bending approach to classical music. Rooted in classical training, their performances frequently incorporate elements of jazz, pop, and traditional folk music – particularly Romani music reflecting the family’s heritage. They are known for dynamic stage presence and improvisation within structured compositions, often rearranging well-known classical pieces with a fresh, contemporary flair. The ensemble consists of four members: Ara Malikian (violin), Federico Agostini (violin), Richard Gallardo (viola), and Zoltán Mátyás (cello).
