Nobuyuki Tsujii, a Japanese classical pianist, will perform at Tachikawa Stage Garden in Tokyo on September 11, 2026. Tsujii is recognized for his deeply expressive and technically brilliant interpretations, often characterized by a Romantic sensibility and a nuanced touch. He gained international acclaim after winning the joint first prize at the 2009 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, notably performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 from memory. Despite being born blind, Tsujii’s performances are celebrated for their musicality and emotional depth across a wide repertoire encompassing composers like Chopin, Liszt, and Beethoven alongside contemporary works.
Tachikawa Stage Garden opened in 1998 as a multi-purpose cultural facility within Showa Kinen Park in Tachikawa City. The main hall features a vineyard-style seating arrangement offering excellent acoustics and sightlines from all locations. It's designed to accommodate a variety of performances including classical music concerts, opera, ballet, and contemporary dance.
