The King’s Singers, a British vocal ensemble, will perform at Kostel Sv. Simona A Juda in Prague, Czechia on April 27, 2027. The group is internationally renowned for its a cappella performance style, encompassing arrangements of pop, jazz, classical and folk music alongside original compositions. Formed in 1968 during their time at King’s College, Cambridge, they are known for their precise vocal blend, dynamic stage presence and extensive touring schedule. Throughout their history, the group has undergone personnel changes but consistently maintained a six-member configuration – countertenor, tenor, two baritones, and two basses.
Kostel Sv. Simona A Juda (Church of St Simon and St Jude) is a significant Baroque church located in the New Town district of Prague. Constructed between 1691 and 1702 to the designs of architect Christoph Dientzenhofer, it exemplifies High Baroque architecture. The church's interior features elaborate stucco work by Giovanni Giuliani and frescoes depicting scenes from the lives of Saints Simon and Jude. Notably, the church served as a site of secret meetings during the Communist era and was an important location for religious dissent.
