Classical Concerts in Hamburg

Experience The Cleveland Orchestra live on October 3rd

The Cleveland Orchestra will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on October 3, 2026. Internationally recognized, The Cleveland Orchestra is celebrated for its precision, tonal beauty, and a historically refined sound often associated with the European tradition. Established in 1918, the ensemble has a long history of critically acclaimed performances and recordings under renowned conductors like George Szell and Franz Welser-Möst. Their repertoire spans from standard orchestral works to contemporary compositions.

The Elbphilharmonie, opened in January 2017, is a landmark concert hall built atop an existing warehouse structure (Kaispeicher A) in the HafenCity district of Hamburg. Designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, it’s notable for its striking glass exterior and wave-like roof. The hall’s acoustics were designed by Yasuhisa Toyota, aiming for a uniquely intimate listening experience despite its size. It houses the Grand Hall (Elbphilharmonie Hall) with seating for 2,100, as well as a smaller Recital Hall and various public spaces offering panoramic city views. The building represents a significant cultural investment for Hamburg and quickly became a symbol of the city.
