Simone Young will conduct a concert at the Sydney Opera House on November 6, 2026. Young is an Australian conductor internationally recognised for her interpretations of opera and symphonic repertoire, particularly noted for her commanding stage presence and meticulous attention to orchestral detail. Her conducting style often emphasizes clarity of texture and dramatic pacing, bringing a distinctly lyrical quality to both Romantic and contemporary works. She has held positions as Music Director of several major opera houses including the Hamburg State Opera and the Sydney Opera House itself (as Artistic Director between 2003-2006).
