Classical Concerts in Seattle

Experience Seattle Symphony live on May 11th

Seattle Symphony, renowned for its dynamic performances spanning classical repertoire, contemporary works, and innovative programming, will present a concert on May 11, 2027, at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. The orchestra frequently commissions new pieces and is known for its commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement. Its musical style is broadly rooted in the Romantic tradition but consistently incorporates 20th and 21st-century compositions, often showcasing a bold and adventurous spirit.

Benaroya Hall, which opened in 1998, serves as the permanent home of the Seattle Symphony. Designed by LMN Architects and acoustician Russell Johnson, the hall was conceived to address the city’s need for a world-class performance venue. It replaced the aging Seattle Opera House as the primary location for orchestral music. A key feature of Benaroya Hall is its vineyard-style seating arrangement – surrounding the orchestra on three sides – intended to enhance intimacy between performers and audience members. The hall also incorporates significant public art installations and serves as a hub for various cultural events beyond symphony performances. Construction was partially funded through a substantial donation from Jack and Jody Benaroya, lending its name to the building.
