Experience Ludovic Morlot live on October 22nd
Ludovic Morlot is a French conductor known for his interpretations of both standard repertoire and contemporary works, frequently championing composers like Olivier Messiaen and focusing on clarity of texture and rhythmic precision. His approach often highlights the emotional core of a piece through detailed dynamic control and nuanced phrasing. He previously served as Music Director of the Seattle Symphony from 2011 to 2017, fostering a period of artistic growth and innovative programming.
The concert will be held at Benaroya Hall’s Taper Auditorium in Seattle, Washington. Originally named the Seattle Opera House when it opened in 1998, it was renamed in 2001 to honor Edgar Taper, a significant local philanthropist whose donation was crucial to its completion. The auditorium is renowned for its exceptional acoustics, designed by Russell Johnson and achieved through a “shoebox” design inspired by the Musikverein in Vienna.
Taper Auditorium primarily hosts orchestral performances, opera productions (by Seattle Opera), and other large-scale musical events. Its capacity is approximately 2,700 seats. The hall features adjustable acoustics allowing for modifications depending on the performance type – enhancing both reverberation for orchestral music and clarity for vocal performances.
