Experience Alisa Weilerstein live on May 15th
Alisa Weilerstein is a celebrated American cellist recognized for her intensely expressive performances and profound musical interpretations. Her repertoire spans a wide range, from the standard classical canon to contemporary works, often characterized by a powerful tone and emotional depth. She frequently commissions new pieces and is known for her commitment to expanding the cello’s role in modern music.
The performance on May 15, 2027, will take place at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Washington. Opened in 1998, Benaroya Hall serves as the home of the Seattle Symphony and is a prominent performing arts venue in the Pacific Northwest. Designed by LMN Architects and acoustician Russell Johnson, the hall is specifically lauded for its exceptional acoustics, achieved through a “shoe box” design and adjustable elements within the Grand Lobby.
Benaroya Hall replaced the aging Seattle Opera House and Civic Auditorium, representing a significant investment in the city’s cultural infrastructure. Its construction was partially funded by a substantial donation from Jack Benaroya, a local businessman and philanthropist – hence its name. The hall hosts diverse events beyond orchestral performances including Broadway shows, popular music concerts, and lectures.
