The Robert-Schumann-Philharmonie Chemnitz, a German orchestra with roots stretching back to 1831 as a city music association, will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on July 4th, 2026. The orchestra’s repertoire is broad, encompassing works from the Baroque period through contemporary compositions, but maintains a particular focus on the Romantic era – reflecting its namesake, composer Robert Schumann – and German musical tradition.
