The Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg, one of Germany’s leading orchestras, will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on August 30, 2026. The orchestra has a long tradition of performing a broad repertoire spanning from Baroque to contemporary music, with a particular emphasis on German Romantic composers like Brahms and Wagner, alongside works by international masters. The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 and is situated in Hamburg’s HafenCity district. Constructed atop an existing historic warehouse – the Kaispeicher A – the building represents a significant architectural achievement. Its design, by Herzog & de Meuron, features an undulating glass facade built above a brick base. The concert hall within is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics, achieved through the “White Skin” interior design by Yasuhisa Toyota which utilizes custom-made gypsum fiber panels.

The Elbphilharmonie is not only a concert venue but also a public space with a hotel, residential apartments and observation deck accessible to visitors offering panoramic views of the city and harbor.
