Classical Concerts in Hamburg

Experience Philharmonie Salzburg live on October 1st

Philharmonie Salzburg, established in 1947, is recognized for its interpretation of Viennese classical repertoire, particularly the works of Mozart, Strauss, and Schubert, alongside a broad range of compositions from the 19th and 20th centuries. The orchestra maintains a tradition of historically informed performance practice while embracing contemporary musical approaches. It frequently collaborates with internationally renowned soloists and conductors.

The concert on October 1st, 2026 at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg marks a performance by this esteemed Austrian ensemble within a building celebrated for its architectural innovation and acoustics. Opened in January 2017, the Elbphilharmonie is situated in Hamburg’s HafenCity district atop an older warehouse structure (the Kaispeicher A). Designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, its distinctive glass facade and wave-like roof have become iconic landmarks.

The concert hall itself, known as the Großer Saal, is renowned for its “White Skin” acoustic design developed by Yasuhisa Toyota, aiming for a natural and immersive sound experience for both performers and audience members.
