Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (OSM) is scheduled to perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on August 28, 2026. The OSM, founded in 1934, is renowned for its vibrant and expressive performances of both standard repertoire and contemporary works. Historically, the orchestra has cultivated a particularly strong connection with French-Canadian composers and has been praised for its dynamic interpretations across a broad range of musical periods, from Baroque to 21st-century compositions. Under the leadership of its current Music Director, Rafael Payare, the OSM continues to tour internationally and maintain a robust recording schedule.

The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 after a decade of construction and significant cost overruns. Built atop an existing warehouse – the Kaispeicher A – it quickly became a landmark architectural achievement and a major cultural venue. Its design, by Herzog & de Meuron, features a distinctive glass façade constructed from 1,000 curved glass panels.
