The Neubrandenburger Philharmonie, a German orchestra based in Neubrandenburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, is scheduled to perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on June 16, 2027. The orchestra possesses a broad repertoire encompassing works from the Baroque period through contemporary compositions, with a particular focus on Romantic and early 20th-century orchestral literature. They are known for their commitment to regional cultural initiatives alongside their concert performances.

The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 and is located in Hamburg’s HafenCity district. Constructed atop an existing warehouse – the Kaispeicher A – its distinctive glass structure and undulating roof have quickly made it a landmark building. The concert hall within, designed by Yasuhisa Toyota, is renowned for its exceptional acoustics achieved through a “vineyard” terraced seating arrangement surrounding the stage and the use of custom-designed sound-reflecting panels.

Kaispeicher A originally served as a storage facility for cocoa, tea, coffee, and spices; its integration into the Elbphilharmonie’s design reflects Hamburg’s history as a major port city.
