The NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on November 5, 2026. This orchestra is renowned for its broad repertoire, encompassing works from Baroque to contemporary music, with a particular emphasis on German composers like Brahms and Wagner, but also frequently performing pieces by international figures. They are known for a polished sound and interpretive depth, reflecting their status as one of Germany’s leading radio symphony orchestras.

The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 after a complex and often-delayed construction process. Built atop an existing warehouse (the Kaispeicher A) in the HafenCity district, it quickly became a landmark architectural achievement. Designed by Herzog & de Meuron, the concert hall’s distinctive glass façade and wave-like roof are internationally recognized.

The building's acoustics were designed by Yasuhisa Toyota, aiming for a “white canvas” sound allowing for natural reverberation and clarity. The Grand Hall accommodates 2,100 listeners and is specifically engineered for orchestral music.
