The NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester, based in Hamburg, Germany, is renowned for its broad repertoire spanning from baroque to contemporary works, with a particular strength in German Romantic composers and a commitment to new music. The concert on September 10, 2026 will be held at the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg’s iconic concert hall. Opened in January 2017 after a decade of construction and significant cost overruns, the Elbphilharmonie is built atop an existing historic warehouse – the Kaispeicher A – in the HafenCity district. Its design, by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, integrates the old brick structure with a striking glass façade.

The hall’s centerpiece is the Grand Hall, famed for its exceptional acoustics achieved through the “White Skin” interior design by Yasuhisa Toyota; this utilizes custom-made gypsum fiber panels distributed across a complex surface. The building also houses a smaller Recital Hall, hotel rooms, and public viewing platforms offering panoramic city views.
