Experience Massimo Giordano live on September 17th
Massimo Giordano is an Italian operatic tenor internationally recognized for his interpretations of the *bel canto* repertoire and verismo roles. His voice is noted for its brilliance, agility, and passionate expression, frequently showcased in performances of composers like Donizetti, Verdi, and Puccini. He has appeared in leading opera houses worldwide, including La Scala, the Metropolitan Opera, and the Royal Opera House.
The concert will take place at the Großer Saal within Laeiszhalle, Hamburg. Completed in 1908, Laeiszhalle is Hamburg’s primary concert venue and considered one of Germany’s most renowned halls for classical music. The Großer Saal itself boasts exceptional acoustics resulting from its “shoebox” design – a traditional shape favored for orchestral performance – and careful attention to materials used in its construction.
Historically, Laeiszhalle was built as a privately funded project by Hans von Bergedorff and named after his mother Elise. It has undergone several renovations but retains much of its original architectural character. The hall regularly hosts performances by the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra and welcomes leading international orchestras and soloists.
