Experience Martha Argerich live on June 26th
Martha Argerich will perform at the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, Germany on June 26, 2026. Argerich is internationally renowned for her intensely passionate and virtuosic piano playing. Her style is characterized by a powerful technique, rhythmic drive, and a distinctive, often impulsive approach to interpretation, particularly within the Romantic repertoire. She frequently performs works by composers such as Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Liszt and Prokofiev, and is also known for her interpretations of contemporary music.
The Laeiszhalle, completed in 1908, is Hamburg’s primary concert hall and a significant cultural landmark. Designed by architect Hermann von der Hude, it underwent extensive renovations between 2017 and 2023. The “Grosser Saal” (Great Hall), where Argerich will appear, is celebrated for its excellent acoustics and ornate Art Nouveau interior. Historically, the Laeiszhalle has hosted performances by many leading orchestras and soloists throughout the 20th and 21st centuries; it serves as the home base for the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra. The building also contains smaller halls used for chamber music and other events.
