Experience Lucas Jussen live on February 10th
Lucas Jussen will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on February 10, 2027. Jussen is a Dutch classical pianist recognized for his poetic and nuanced interpretations, often focusing on Romantic and early 20th-century repertoire. His playing is characterized by a clear tone and a sensitive approach to phrasing, earning him critical acclaim for both solo performances and chamber music collaborations. He frequently performs works by composers like Chopin, Liszt, and Rachmaninoff, but also explores contemporary pieces.
The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 after a decade of construction and significant cost overruns. Built atop an existing warehouse – the Kaispeicher A – it quickly became a landmark architectural achievement and a central cultural venue for Hamburg. Designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, its distinctive glass façade and wave-like roof are intended to reflect the city’s maritime character.
The concert hall within boasts exceptional acoustics, achieved through the innovative “White Skin” interior design by Yasuhisa Toyota. This system utilizes digitally modeled plasterboard panels to diffuse sound effectively.
