The Elbphilharmonie, opened in 2017, is a concert hall situated in the HafenCity district of Hamburg. Constructed atop an existing warehouse, the *Kaispeicher A*, its design by Herzog & de Meuron incorporates glass facade construction creating a wave-like appearance. The building’s acoustics were designed by Yasuhisa Toyota, aiming for a “white canvas” sound allowing for natural amplification and clarity. It’s considered a landmark building and significant architectural achievement, intended to be accessible to the public with a publicly accessible plaza offering panoramic views of the city and harbour.
